Taxes & Purchase Charges

Sales Tax Policy

This Sales Tax Policy explains how Nomad RV Campers handles applicable sales, use, transaction, and similar taxes associated with the purchase of RV campers, truck toppers, trailers, accessories, parts, and related products or services.

TAX INFORMATION Calculated Where Applicable

Applicable tax depends on the transaction, product, delivery destination, and governing tax requirements.

How Sales Tax Is Determined

Nomad RV Campers collects sales tax or similar transaction taxes when required by applicable law. Because tax requirements and rates may vary by location, product type, delivery destination, and transaction circumstances, the exact amount applicable to an order may differ from one customer or destination to another.

01
General Policy

Sales Tax Collection

Nomad RV Campers will collect applicable sales tax, transaction tax, or similar government-imposed charges when we are legally required to do so.

Tax obligations may depend on factors including:

  • The customer's delivery location.
  • The type of product purchased.
  • The location from which the order is fulfilled.
  • Applicable state or local tax requirements.
  • Whether the transaction qualifies for an exemption.
02
Tax Rates

Applicable Tax Rate

We do not apply a single universal sales tax rate to every transaction.

Where sales tax is required, the applicable rate is determined according to the tax rules applicable to the transaction at the time the order is processed.

Rates may differ by state, county, municipality, district, product classification, or other applicable taxing authority.

03
Checkout

Tax Displayed on Your Order

Where tax can be calculated during checkout, the applicable amount may be shown separately before the order is completed.

For quotations, invoices, large RV transactions, or orders requiring manual review, the applicable tax may instead be calculated and shown on the final quotation, invoice, or order confirmation.

Please note: A product price displayed on the website may not always include sales tax unless expressly stated otherwise.
04
Delivery Destination

Location-Based Tax Calculation

Where applicable, tax may be determined according to the destination to which the product is delivered or another location considered relevant under applicable tax law.

Customers must therefore provide a complete and accurate delivery address when requesting a quotation or placing an order.

Changing the delivery location may result in a change to the applicable tax amount.

05
Product Categories

RV Campers, Toppers & Accessories

Tax treatment may differ depending on the type of product purchased.

Products sold by Nomad RV Campers may include:

  • RV campers.
  • Travel trailers.
  • Truck campers.
  • Truck toppers.
  • Recreational vehicles.
  • Replacement parts.
  • Accessories and equipment.

Certain vehicles or products may also be subject to separate registration, title, licensing, or governmental charges that are not classified as ordinary sales tax.

06
Delivery Charges

Tax on Shipping & Delivery

Whether shipping, freight, transportation, delivery, handling, setup, or similar charges are taxable depends on the tax rules applicable to the transaction.

Where we are required to collect tax on these charges, the applicable amount will be reflected in the order, quotation, or invoice.

Where such charges are not taxable under the applicable rules, no sales tax will be added to them solely under this Policy.

07
Additional Services

Modifications & Installation

Orders involving modifications, installation, accessories, upgrades, setup, or other services may have tax treatment different from the underlying RV or product.

Where required, applicable tax may be calculated separately for products and services appearing on the same order.

08
Exempt Transactions

Sales Tax Exemptions

Certain customers or transactions may qualify for exemption from sales tax under applicable law.

A customer requesting tax-exempt treatment must provide valid documentation before the transaction is finalized where such documentation is required.

Examples may include a valid resale certificate, exemption certificate, or other documentation recognized by the relevant taxing authority.

10
Resale Purchases

Resale Certificates

Businesses purchasing qualifying products for resale may be eligible for tax-exempt treatment where permitted by applicable law.

A valid resale certificate or equivalent documentation may be required before the sale is treated as exempt.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that any certificate supplied is accurate, current, and legally applicable to the transaction.

11
Customer Responsibility

Use Tax & Other Obligations

In some circumstances, Nomad RV Campers may not be required to collect sales tax on a particular transaction even though the customer may have a separate use tax, registration tax, or other obligation in their jurisdiction.

Where applicable, customers remain responsible for taxes or governmental charges that the law requires them to report or pay directly.

12
Registration

Title, Registration & Licensing Fees

Certain RVs, campers, trailers, or other vehicles may be subject to title, registration, licensing, inspection, plate, or other governmental charges.

These charges may be separate from sales tax and may not be included in the product purchase price unless expressly stated.

Customers should verify the registration requirements applicable in the jurisdiction where the vehicle will be titled, registered, stored, or used.

13
Price Changes

Changes in Tax Rates

Tax rates and tax rules may change from time to time.

Where a tax rate changes before a transaction is completed, the rate legally applicable to the transaction may differ from an earlier estimate.

Any required adjustment will be reflected in the applicable invoice or final order total.

14
Corrections

Tax Calculation Errors

We make reasonable efforts to calculate applicable tax correctly.

If a material tax calculation error is identified before an order is completed, we may correct the amount before finalizing the transaction.

If a tax error is discovered after payment, we will review the transaction and handle any required correction in accordance with applicable tax requirements.

15
Order Changes

Changes to Your Purchase

Changes to an order may alter the applicable tax amount.

Examples include:

  • Changing the delivery address.
  • Adding or removing products.
  • Adding modifications or accessories.
  • Changing transportation arrangements.
  • Changing the final purchase price.

Where necessary, tax will be recalculated before the revised order is completed.

16
Refunds

Sales Tax on Approved Refunds

Where an eligible purchase is refunded, applicable sales tax associated with the refunded amount will generally be handled according to applicable tax requirements.

RETURN WINDOW 30 Days
REFUND PROCESSING 14 Days

If only part of an order is refunded, the corresponding tax adjustment may also be limited to the portion of the transaction being refunded.

17
Documentation

Invoices & Tax Records

Where applicable, invoices, order confirmations, or other transaction records may show the taxable amount and sales tax collected.

Customers should retain their purchase documentation for their records, particularly where the product requires registration, business accounting, resale documentation, or tax reporting.

18
Business Purchases

Commercial Customers

Purchasing a product for commercial or business use does not automatically make the transaction exempt from sales tax.

Businesses claiming an exemption must satisfy the applicable requirements and provide any required documentation.

19
Interstate Purchases

Orders Across Different Locations

Orders involving customers, inventory, or delivery locations in different states or jurisdictions may be subject to different tax treatment.

We will apply tax where we are required to collect it based on the information available for the transaction.

Customers may remain responsible for additional tax, registration, or reporting obligations imposed directly by their jurisdiction.
